Inspirational Thought: This coming Sunday is the Day of Pentecost. It is 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus, 10 days after his Ascension into heaven, and what has become known as the birthday of the church. According to Acts 2, the disciples were gathered in one accord (not the car, but the upper room) where the Spirit manifested itself through wind and tongues of fire. The disciples of Jesus started to speak in an unknown tongue to them but not to the visitors of Jerusalem. God’s amazing power filled those gathered with boldness to carry on God’s work established by Christ. It is amazing to read how many souls were added to the church that day. What a way to celebrate the birth of the church. For us, our Day of Pentecost will also see souls added to our church through baptism, confirming our confirmation class as well as bring in new members. This will be a joyful day for our church as we witness the power of God working in our midst. To make this a festive time, we ask that you wear something red to church, zoom, or Facebook live stream worship. Already our paraments have changed to the liturgical color of red and the Pentecost banner is placed. Why red? Red symbolizes the joy and fire of the Holy Spirit. May we come this Sunday and be filled with God’s Spirit as we celebrate the journey of the church and praise the Lord.
Until we meet again, may God’s love be with you,
Prayer of the Week: Breath of Life, on this Pentecost Sunday, we ask that You breathe on us once again. Make our consciences tender to Your touch. We hunger for the life-changing power that Your Holy Spirit brings. May our lives exemplify the fruit of Your Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. May we use the gifts of the Spirit that You have distributed to bless the church and build Your Kingdom on earth. Amen.

The church is clean and very well ventilated. Surfaces have been sanitized. There is enough room in the sanctuary for everyone to social distance. We have masks available if you forget yours and plenty of hand sanitizer. It is very safe to come to church now, so come on back this Sunday. We miss you!
Pentecost Offering 2021
Please give generously to the Pentecost Offering. Your gifts will help transform the lives of more young adults as they work for change alongside communities around the world.
Your gift will help our church step up its efforts to reach at-risk children.
Since 1998, Presbyterians of all ages have raised more than $11 million for ministries that benefit younger members of God’s family. We believe we are called to do even more to support and care for young people to build a strong foundation of faith. They are the future of our church and the world.
An Offering will be taken Today, Pentecost Sunday, May 23, 2021.
If you won’t be in church this Sunday, please mail your donation to the church office.
Please give generously.
