PCL at a Glance for May 4, 2021

Inspirational Thought: Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” How do we keep the perseverance in our daily activities when we don’t see an immediate result? Many times, I get discouraged when things don’t work out in my time. I grew up in a sitcom world where in twenty minutes or so, a solution to a problem was found. I have found out that life doesn’t work this way. This passage in Galatians reminds us to keep on keeping on. Maybe this is more important than the harvest for as we work we experience God in surprising ways. Let’s be reminded that each step of the journey is the journey. Ultimately, the outcome is in God’s hands and not ours. Hopefully, a slow persistent discovery of seeing God at work will give us hope to maintain the course and trim the sails for the long haul. In order to do this, we need to walk by the faith of anticipation of things to come instead of the sight of expecting to see the fruits of our labor immediately.

The church is clean and very well ventilated. Surfaces have been sanitized. There is enough room in the sanctuary for everyone to social distance. We have masks available if you forget yours and plenty of hand sanitizer. It is very safe to come to church now, so come on back this Sunday. We miss you!

Pentecost Offering 2021

Please give generously to the Pentecost Offering. Your gifts will help transform the lives of more young adults as they work for change alongside communities around the world.

Your gift will help our church step up its efforts to reach at-risk children.

Since 1998, Presbyterians of all ages have raised more than $11 million for ministries that benefit younger members of God’s family. We believe we are called to do even more to support and care for young people to build a strong foundation of faith. They are the future of our church and the world.

An Offering will be taken on Pentecost Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Please give generously.
