Inspirational Thought: This week is the holiest week in Christendom. We – so to speak – mount our donkeys and follow Jesus from the triumphal entry into Jerusalem to the empty tomb of Easter morning. In the hustle and bustle of this week, dare we, could we, would we, pause and reflect on what this “Passion Week” means. May we “just be” in contemplation of how this week is different from all other weeks. May we pause in wonderment as we hear about the last supper, which Jesus shared with his disciples. May we stand beneath the cross of Jesus and have our guilt and shame released. May we have our empty void filled with the joy of the redemption won for us through Jesus Christ. Can we allow ourselves “just to be” as we hear of the women going to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body? Will this Easter be different for us because we allowed ourselves “just to be” and be filled with the sights, sounds, and presence of God’s grace and love? May we “just be” and let Easter happen. Dare we, could we, would we, allow ourselves to be in the moment and let each moment speak for itself.
Until we meet again, may God’s love be with you,
Pastor Dan
Prayer of the Week: God of all, you gave your only-begotten Son to take the form of a servant, and to be obedient even to death on a cross. Give us the same mind that was in Christ Jesus, that, sharing in his humility, we may come to be with him in his glory; through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
